Our team of trained search and rescue volunteers are committed to locating missing and lost persons efficiently and effectively as possible.
Search and rescue
Carleton Ground Search and Rescue (CGSAR) is a volunteer organization dedicated to assisting police and emergency services in locating and rescuing missing persons. Its skilled members are trained in search techniques, navigation, survival, and emergency response which enables them to operate effectively in challenging environments and conditions.
Community
CGSAR plays an active role in supporting the community through a variety of services beyond emergency response. Volunteers assist during events, and public gatherings, ensuring safety and providing first aid support. They also conduct wellness checks during severe weather or power outages and deliver educational presentations, such as the Hug-a-Tree program.

CGSAR supports community safety by providing first aid at events and emergencies. Trained volunteers care for the injured until medical help arrives, enhancing safety and demonstrating professionalism and commitment.

Membership
No previous search and rescue experience is needed—you will receive all the required training to become an operational searcher.
